Dell shipping laptops with manufacturing defect- Inspiron 1440

Not sure what DELL think of Indians. I ordered a laptop my friend and they shipped one with manufacturing defect. The battery wont fit – it is loose in its compartment. Later I came to know from the service engineer that they cant do anything as this model comes with the manufacturing defect). And they are selling this in Indian market knowingly! What a pity. They think we are idiots.

Now it is more than two months that we asked for a replacement. Yesterday, we got it – they send us the same model with the same defect. Next step should be going to the consumer court. Not going to leave this – need justice. We don’t want be cheated like this.

Every time we call Dell customer care, it is a different person and it take hours to make them understand the problem. Some acts like they don’t understand! And after hours of talk, the executive calls their BOSS who talks in American accent (That is why he is the boss? – cant find any other reason). This guy will also asks the same questions – replies. Now I feel guilty that I made my friend buy it. Why this DELL guys think that they can sell anything in INDIAN market? They would have sued by now if it was in any other country.

What we are asking is for a defect free laptop OR the money we paid.

Creative minds are jailed

I am here to ask you a few question! 1) What you wanted to become when you were a child and are you there yet? 2) If not, whether you are forced to become what you are now? Forced by needs - money - social status etc 3) Is job just something that earns money and nothing else? How many hours you spend with your family friends? Move from south to north or from north to south, miles and miles away from your home for work. Spend day and night, weekdays and weekends at work and earn your employer 100 times than what you earn. I know a friend who writes, composes and sings well who now is not getting time to do any of this. I know a person who wanted to be movie director and is now confined in the four walls of a wi-fi building suffering from high BP and severe back pain. The list will go on... They all are getting a BIG salary, but what they can do with it? When they can spend it and how? I saw tears in the eyes of 35 year old guy from Bihar, whenever he gets a call from his mother! How he can be happy with the money he earns when he has his crying mother's image at the back of his mind. Those IT companies and BPOs pluck those buds from even IIT's and will not let them bloom. They endup answering customer calls burning midnight oil. Are we on the right path? Don't you think that many creative minds are jailed as above?

Less talk, More Work ?

Does this hold good for us? One of the TV ads is asking us Indians to work more. I think it does... There are people who just talks and do nothing. Sure, you may know at least 10 of this kind. They earns/survives by just talking and often it brings trouble to others.

Their characteristics would all or some of the below:

  • Selfish
  • Show off
  • Short tempered
  • Sometimes idiotic :)
